1. About these terms
ClubGael is run by Derek Brennan, trading as DB Agentics, in Northern Ireland, UK ("we", "us"). You can contact us at hello@clubgael.com.
By using the ClubGael app or a club website built on ClubGael, you agree to these terms. Sections 2 to 5 apply to everyone. Sections 6 and 7 also apply to clubs that subscribe. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. Using the app
- Your club decides who can join its app and what each person can see and do.
- You sign in with your email address and a password. Keep your password private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- Give accurate details, and keep them up to date.
- If you're a parent or guardian, you're responsible for the details you add about your child.
- You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account.
3. Acceptable use
The app is for club business. When you use it, please:
- Be respectful. No abuse, bullying, harassment, threats, hate speech or offensive content, towards anyone, including referees and opponents.
- Keep it to club business: training, matches, events, fundraising and club news. No unrelated advertising or spam.
- Don't share children's details (names, photos, schools, addresses) unless you are their parent or guardian or the club has permission to do so.
- Don't post photos of other people without their permission, or their parent's or guardian's permission for a child.
- Follow the GAA Code of Behaviour and your club's own rules.
- Don't try to get into accounts or parts of the system you're not meant to, copy the app, or interfere with how it works.
- Don't use the app for anything illegal.
If you see something that breaks these rules, use the report option in the app or tell your club. See our safeguarding page.
4. Your content
Messages, photos and other things you post remain yours. You allow your club and ClubGael to store and show them to the people your club allows, so the app can work. Your club can remove content from its app, and so can we if it breaks these terms.
5. Paying your club
When you pay a club fee, camp, event or booking in the app, you're paying your club, through the club's own Stripe account. Your card details go to Stripe, not to ClubGael. Questions about refunds should go to your club, which sets its own refund rules.
6. Club subscription
- Free preview: each club can try ClubGael free for 7 days. Nothing is charged during the preview.
- Price: there is no monthly charge. ClubGael takes 2.75% + 10p2.75% + 10c (minimum 35p45c) from each online payment a club receives through the app, and this includes the card processing fee. Payments a club takes in person or outside the app are not charged.
- No contract: there's no minimum term. A club can cancel at any time by emailing hello@clubgael.com; the service then stops at the end of that month.
- Payment arrangements are still being finalised. We'll confirm exactly how and when payment is taken before any club is charged.
- If we change the price, we'll give clubs at least 30 days' notice, so they can cancel first if they wish.
- When a club leaves, it can ask for an export of its data. We then delete the club's data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
7. Club responsibilities
A club using ClubGael is responsible for:
- Safeguarding: following GAA child welfare guidance, appointing a Children's Officer and putting their contact details in the app, and making sure only suitable, vetted adults have coaching roles.
- Accurate information: keeping fixtures, fees, contacts and other club information correct.
- Members' data: the club is in charge of its members' information (see the Privacy Policy), including telling members how it is used and answering their requests.
- Who has access: giving officer and coach roles only to the right people, and removing access when someone leaves a role.
- Payments: its own Stripe account, prices, refunds and any tax on what it sells.
- Lotteries and raffles: holding any licence or registration the law requires for club lotteries, raffles or draws run through the app or website.
- Content: having permission to use the photos, logos and words it publishes.
8. Suspending accounts
Your club can remove you from its app. We may suspend or remove an account, or remove content, if it breaks these terms, puts anyone at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it's safe and reasonable, we'll explain why.
9. Our liability
- We work hard to keep ClubGael running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may need to pause it now and then for maintenance.
- Fixtures from Foireann and information added by clubs come from those sources; please check important details with your club.
- We're not responsible for what members or clubs post, but we will act when content is reported to us.
- We're not liable for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for indirect business losses such as lost income.
- For a club, our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the subscription fees the club paid us in that period.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. If you're a consumer, you keep all your legal rights.
10. Law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland deal with any dispute. If you live in Ireland or elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
